The 10th Zimbabwe International Research Symposium took place at the Harare International Conference Centre on the 12th and 13th of February 2015. There was a huge turn out of institutional representatives from Government, Corporates and International organisations. Over 700 delegates who included suppliers, young scientists, sponsors, presenters and exhibitors attended the symposium on day one. On 13 February 2015 over 900 delegates took part in the proceedings. Institutions were represented from countries which include Nigeria, Zambia, India, Netherlands, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Eighty four (84) papers were presented at the 10th ZIRS.

The Official Opening Ceremony was on 13th February 2015 with the Hon. Vice President E.D. Mnangagwa being the Guest of Honour who was joined by the Hon. Vice President P. Mphoko and the Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development, Hon. O.C.Z. Muchinguri. .

The Official Opening Ceremony was combined with the 10th Zimbabwe International Research Awards ceremony to honor those who have made outstanding contributions to research. The following are the categories for which awards were presented: Robert Gabriel Mugabe Award, Natural and Environmental Sciences Award, Agricultural Sciences Award, University Research Student Award, Secondary School Award, Primary School Award and Agricultural Award for Primary School.
