Dr. Michael James Tumbare has expertise in Water Resources Infrastructure Development and Management; Hydrology and Hydraulic infrastructure Design; Formulation of Water Resources Development and Management Policies and Strategies; Water resources development and water resources infrastructure management; Promotion of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) knowledge, application and best practices; Dam design, dam infrastructure development and management; construction supervision; Infrastructure monitoring, maintenance and operation; Promotion of the Engineering Profession and civil engineering best practices; Development of Management Policies and Best Practices in Institutional Management; Promotion of importance and the need for Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Social Impact Assessments (SIAs) as part of all water resources development and IWRM best practices. He has published several books and numerous professional articles in the field of water resources development and management.

Qualifications: PhD (Engineering Technology), Masters in Business Administration and BSc (Civil Engineering Honours) degrees

 Current employment: Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering at the University of Zimbabwe

Work Experience: +30 Years working experience in the Civil Service, Private Sector and International Organizations, spent 16 years as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Zambezi River Authority (ZRA), 11 years in the civil service and 5 years in the private sector.
